Do you already have an idea (even a rough one) for the date of the next release? The reason why I'm asking is that I'm thinking about starting a new SoA game and I would gladly wait a few more days if I knew that I could get v4 of the BG2 Fixpack (I noticed that there is an average of 1 month between each version).
Thanks very much
Just a quick note: I know that modders are sometimes angered by repeated questions about the next release date of their work. I'm just asking because I haven't seen anyone asking about that in this forum. And if you don't have a definite release date, that's fine with me!

Smoketest brought a bug to our attention with Beta 3 that I consider something we need to fix pretty quickly. With that in hand, I've shifted my focus to preparing v4 instead of new bug fixes. I hope to have it released within a few days, but these things have a way of setting their own schedule.
Don't you worry about Planet Express, let me worry about blank.

I'm sorry but I still have one last question: do you think I can start a game with Fixpack Beta 3 installed and then when Beta 4 gets out install it and go on with my game without messing up the other mods I play with (Weidu NPC mods, UB, Quest Pack, Banter Pack, ...)? I was just wondering because the readme for the Fixpack says it should be installed prior to other mods... Thanks for you help!

It should be fine. WeiDU employs an 'onion layer' approach to install order. Let's say you install Fixpack and mods after it. When you go to update Fixpack to Beta 4, it will uninstall every mod installed after it, update Fixpack to the new version, and then install all of those mods again, preserving your mod order.

Won't this possibly mess up previous savegames however? I've experienced this a few times, especially with tlk file getting changed and messing up dialogs, names, descriptions, etc, if I reinstall/update weidu components from various mods and afterwards load up a game saved before the reinstall/update.

It shouldnt mess up savegames because the mods are being reinstalled in exactly the same order. Savegames get messed up when you reinstall mods in a different order than the order the game was saved in.

One of the big reasons why you should start a new game with Fixpack is that stuff like stores, areas, and the worldmap are stored in save games so updating game resources won't fix the errors in your game-in-progress. However, from beta 3 > 4 there are only a handful of area changes--mainly rest flags--so (knock on wood) it shouldn't be an issue.

Ok thank for your help, I think I'll try to start a game with beta 3 and then update to beta 4. When you say that beta 4 will be ready in a "few days", do you mean it'll be out before this week end?
Because then, I would just wait for beta 4...
