I am getting the following errors when trying to install:

ERROR: BIFF [C:\BGDISK\CD5/DATA/AREA110A.BIF] has file entries 0--14, cannot
extract file at entry 15 <this BIFF and your KEY file don't match>

ERROR: BIFF [C:\BGDISK\CD5/DATA/AREA110A.BIF]: unable to extract file 15

ERROR: BIFF [./DATA/AREA2700.BIF] cannot be loaded: Unix.Unix_error(20, "stat",
"./DATA/AREA2700.BIF")

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [AR2700.WED] not found in KEY file:
[./chitin.key]

I did a full install and even re-copied disk five into the directory to make sure all the files were there. My full install directory is C:\BGDISK and my ini reads as follows:

HD0:=C:\Program Files (x86)\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\
CD1:=F:\CD1\
CD2:=C:\BGDISK\CD2
CD3:=C:\BGDISK\CD3
CD4:=C:\BGDISK\CD4
CD5:=C:\BGDISK\CD5
CD6:=C:\BGDISK\CD6

Please help.

The name "Program Files (x86)" shows that you have a 64 bits version of either Vista or 7. I suggest you try installing the game again according to what is stated in this tutorial (i.e. out of C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86)).

This often allowed to get rid of strange behaviours, especially if you copied files by hand, which would get them copied into the "virtual store" instead of C:\Program Files.

I want to try this solution, but can not uninstall the game. When I insert BG disk 1 and click "uninstall" nothing happens. I deleted the game folder and get the same result. It does not show up in control panel as a program I can remove. I also tried a program called "cc cleaner" and get the same result. Do I have to manually remove the game from my registry? How do I do this? Thanks

try running the setup.exe file directly from the disk. see what it allows you to do from there

Okay, I was able to reinstall BG / Totsc and totsc patch. When I try to install the widescreen mod I still get these errors:

ERROR: BIFF [C:\BGDISK\CD5/DATA/AREA110A.BIF] has file entries 0--14, cannot
extract file at entry 15 <this BIFF and your KEY file don't match>
ERROR: BIFF [C:\BGDISK\CD5/DATA/AREA110A.BIF]: unable to extract file 15
ERROR: BIFF [./DATA/AREA2700.BIF] cannot be loaded: Unix.Unix_error(20, "stat",
"./DATA/AREA2700.BIF")
ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [AR2700.WED] not found in KEY file:
[./chitin.key]

Here is how my .ini file reads:

HD0:=c:\gaming\black isle\baldur's gate\
CD1:=F:\CD1\
CD2:=C:\BGDISK\CD2\
CD3:=C:\BGDISK\CD3\
CD4:=C:\BGDISK\CD4\
CD5:=C:\BGDISK\CD5\
CD6:=C:\BGDISK\CD6\

did you do a FULL install? that means choosing custom and selecting every box and installing anyway even tho it reports as not having enough disk space.
