1) Widescreen mod needs ToTSC to be installed on the BG1 platform
2) you need the proper patch installed v.1.3.5512
If the US patch doesn't work with Widescreen try the International version instead

If your original game version is 1.3.5521 you have to downgrade to v 1.3.5512 to run the WSM.
do note that if you downgrade, the mission pack save file will not work. however, new games & saves will still function properly.

Widescreen works with 1.3.5521 since version 2.60 of the mod, when it became compatible with the GOG version.

You should never fall back to using 1.3.5512 if you already have 1.3.5521, especially if you have the GOG version (that would bring back the CD check) or if you have a 3 CD version (you may loose the ability to handle the compressed cbf files).

Note that you may need to apply the 1.3.5521 patch if you have a 3 CD version. It seems there are two different executables identified with version 1.3.5521. One was issued by Bioware, the other one by Black Isle with the 3CD version (Original Saga), if I understood properly. Widescreen only accepts one of them. I think it's the Bioware one, which is available as a patch.

From what I could find, the 1.3.5521 version that Widescreen can handle is 4923392 bytes. This size seems to be the same for both English and International patches.

I've got the same problem. I have BG1: Original Saga 3 CD version 1.3.5521

Solution is as simple as install "Baldur's Gate - TotSC Patch (v. 1.3.5521 International)" - bgtosc_intl.exe - downloadable from fileplanet.com for example. As I understand, in this case patch only replaces BGmain2.exe with other one which matches Widescreen Mode check. Inner version is the same, but size and date are different.
And everithing works.

Thanks, Isaya.
