I think i found the cause: an SDL bug with SDL_GetWindowSize on retina displays

apparently it doesn't affect the simulator tho...


nevermind. i don't think this is the cause.

the newer build has working touch input when fullscreen is disabled.

Hey Guys, I just discovered this project and I'm excited to get started but my iPad 3 is not jailbroken. I read on another forum that it was possible to install on my iPad without jail breaking but I have NO knowledge of resigning apps.
I read the GENrb wiki and I've alread hit a snag. I'll paste the area of the tutorial I'm stuck:

  • Expand GemRB.ipa (rename to .zip), locate GemRB.app and drag it on AppResigner. Choose the appropriate developer identity when asked.
    Ok, I downloaded the GenRB.ipa and I downloaded what I think is the AppResigner Applescript (a zip file). I extracted the zip file and got a file called AppResigner.applescript. Am I supposed to take the GenRB.app folder I got from the .ipa and drag it INTO the AppResigner.Applescript file? I'm not able to. Nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Did I download the wrong file?

nobody here will know. that really is a question you should ask the AppResigner people as it has nothing to do with GemRB specifically.

Re-signing requires an apple developer certificate anyway, so why not just download the source code (xcode project included) and compile a build using said certificate instead?

BTW if GemRB.app is a floder for you then you are on windows and that is a very good reason for apple script to not work ;)

I'd be happy to only have the performance problems everyone else is having lol, at least everyone else has the app installed on their idevices. I'm still stuck on getting it installed.
Can anyone just please link me a version of Gemrb that will work for non-jailbroken devices? I have the ipad 3 on firmware 5.1.
I've been working on trying to compile one for a week now but as I said, I have no clue now to do it. I've taken parts of different tutorials and made attempts but I'm just left with a huge mess of files. Most of the tutorials are for Mac anyway.

do you even have an apple developer certificate? this is the only way to produce a build that will run on non-jailbroken devices.

I'm guessing you don't since you "have no clue" how to compile. i'm also guessing you dont want to spend the $99 USD it would cost (cant blame you there). You should probably wait till summer and just buy the Official releases they will be selling for iPad on the app store.

I'm using v 7.0.665 on iPad 2.

Installed pst on my px , go to game dir and zip folder up. Transferred zip file , rename it to torment.pst. Installed it . I'm able to reach the first screen. But other than sound, the screen doesn't respond to any touches.
Any help appreciated !

Oh well , I disabled full screen and touch response is restored. Will report back with any bug.

Another question though : how is it with apparent error in the debug log am I getting a fairly working initialization of the game ?( with full screen disabled )

If disabling fullscreen is a workaround on the display bug, for now, how do I edit the screen size such as choosing another resolution so as to fit the game to the entire ipad screen ?

Edit: ok I'm unable to get past to the first scene of waking up from the bed. Stuck after char creation on some odd loading page

Upon further examination of debug log the pathing error could be due to the way the game is installed on my pc. Only cd 1 data is installed , extracted whilst cd 2 onwards (4 in all) is to be read and inserted as needed. Hence the zip file comprises only data from cd 1 and this give rise to bad auto pathing by gemrb.

Upon checking the file ar0500.bif is found in cd 3 of which data is not copied into my iPad of course.

Suppose this is right , how do I correct this? Manual copy of all 4 cd into correct folders in my gemrb directory in iPad ?

I'm not clear if a manual full install of the game is even possible.
