[aVENGER_(RR)]

Since a few people have expressed an interest in this, I've made a small compilation of my recent submissions along with some of the BWP stuff.

Disclaimer: this is by no means an official update. It should be used for test purposes only and it certainly isn't officially supported. Furthermore, the accompanying documentation has not been updated (yet).


Instructions:

1) Grab the latest snapshot of the BG2 Fixpack from the GitHub devel branch
2) Click on the ZIP button to download the archive
3) Unpack the archive contents to your BG2 folder
4) Rename the folder aVENGER981-BG2-Fixpack-someweirdhexnumbers to bg2fixpack
5) Download the latest WeiDU from http://www.weidu.org/~thebigg/ and unpack it into your BG2 folder
6) Copy WeiDU.exe into your BG2 folder
7) Rename WeiDU.exe into setup-bg2fixpack.exe
8) Run setup-bg2fixpack.exe


Be advised that some of the content from this snapshot might not make it into the final release. The status of every change is decided through a detailed review process. Until that happens, all the changes presented here are tentative at best.

Changelog

For reference, a full comparison between the official version and the current build is available in diff form. The changes implemented in each version are listed below.

v9.14 - integrated the following fixes:

• The "War Elves fix" has been revised and now more closely matches unmodded game behaviour. (Core fixes)
  
• The Monk item usability fix is once again correctly applied to the wizard version of the Remove Curse scroll. (Core fixes)
  
• Fixed latent bugs in "Chant Not Affecting Enemies" and "Grease Fixes" that would misindex the spells if they had more than a single ability header. (Core fixes)
  
• Fixed a bug in the "Otiluke's Resilient Sphere Fixes" that could result in out-of-bounds errors and other bugs. (Core fixes)
  
• Fixed a bug in the "Protection From Fire, Protection From Cold Fixes" that would result in corrupt files if the spells had an unexpected number of headers. (Core fixes)
  
• Fixed a bug in "Mordenkainen's Swords Not Suppressing 'Intelligence Drained' Strings" that would result in a misindexed file. (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Stripped a sahuagin at the retribution pocket plane challenge of its gnoll soundset. (Beta Core fixes)

v9.13 - integrated the following fixes (from Wisp):

• Female romance interests no longer comment on Phaere coming onto you in chapter 6 if they were not in the party in chapter 5 (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Tabitha the feline is now immune to charm to prevent her script from malfunctioning (Beta Core Fixes)
  
• The creatures guarding the way out of the Underdark will no longer stutter if they are charmed (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Unreferenced night tilesets are now referenced (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Corrected a mixup among the bard songs (Bard Song fixes)
  
• You can not ask Roger about the gong over and over (Beta Core fixes)
  
• (Minor) Globe of Invulnerability does not interfere with casting summoning spells (Beta Core fixes)
  
• The surfacer elves by the Underdark exit will not leave while there are still enemies present (Beta Core fixes)

v9.12 - integrated the following fixes (from Wisp):

• Belt of Inertial Barrier displays the right icon (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Fix NVROL in cernd.dlg (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Staff of Curing now cures the icons as well (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Root of the Problem is now worth something (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Do not alter kit.ids values for barbarian and wild mage to avoid conflicting with ToBEx (Core fixes)
  
• Both Kreels now look the same (Beta Core fixes)
  
• Updated the fixes to item weight, speed factor etc. to be more comprehensive (Core Fixes)

v9.11 - integrated the following fixes (from Wisp):

• Fixed loop bug in the area script for the temple of Talos. (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed a bug with one of the planar-prison guards possibly making the actors hostile. (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed a bunch of instances of creatures having gender-incorrect sound sets. (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed Asp's Nest darts doing incorrect poison damage. (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed non-functional fear effects on Creeping Doom. (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed incorrect to-hit bonus and save penalty on Flasher Master Bruiser Mates. (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Rescinded the spurious change to the Firetooth dagger's thrown damage. (OBC: Mixed-Use Dagger Fixes)

v9.10 - integrated the following fixes (from Wisp):

• The description of Teleport Field now really makes no mention of a saving throw. (Core Fixes)
  
• The charm-immunity-effect batch patch now adds protection against string #8364 ("Dominated"). (Core Fixes)
  
• Revised the fix for disease immunity granting immunity to poison damage. (Core Fixes)
  
• The projectile-immunity fixes for the Shield of Reflection and Physical Mirror spell are now more comprehensive (notably, Physical Mirror now protects against Firetooth bolts). (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed an issue with Hendak occasionally disappearing or moving to another part of the Copper Coronet. (BETA Core Fixes)

v9.09 - integrated the following fixes:

• Revised the Azuredge fix. The spurious bonuses to hit and damage have been removed. The extra damage vs. undead creatures is now 1d6+4 (Core Fixes)
  
• Revised the Luck spell fix to include the missing thieving skill bonuses and made it non-cumulative (Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the incorrect thieving skill racial bonuses for elves, half-elves and halflings (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the incorrect lore bonus for 15 INT/WIS (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the incorrect Move Silently entry for Ranger level 2 (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Added the latest GTU Light from Wisp (Optional But Cool)

v9.08 - integrated the following fixes:

• Fixed erroneously dispellable effects on Keldorn's armor (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed Storm of Vengeance not displaying the relevant icon on poisoned targets (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the wrong enchantment level and missing poison icon on the Dagger of Venom (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed Inquisitors getting charm immunity at level 2 instead of level 1 (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Errad's Divination spell now actually uses the Divination casting graphics (Improved Spell Animations)

v9.07 - integrated the following fixes:

• Fixed an issue where English sounds were erroneously installed on non-english games (Core Fixes)
  
• Rolled back the power level change of Spell Thrust as it was unnecessary (Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed Jarlaxle not having enough gold to reward the party for their efforts (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed Jaheira having the wrong dialogue when a non-romance protagonist refuses to follow her to the Harper Hold (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• The power level of Secret Word has been increased to 5 so that it can now dispel a Globe of Invulnerability (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the incorrect orientation when exiting Cayia's house in Brynnlaw (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the Glabrezus in the Ranger stronghold quest and inside the Suldanessalar temple not giving any XP when killed (BETA Core Fixes)

v9.06 - integrated the following fixes:

• Reworked Brynnlaw vampire fix not to disrupt Saemon's dialogue (Core Fixes)
  
• Revised Faldorn death variable fix (Core Fixes)
  
• The Staff of the Magi fix was erroneously removing the Protection from Evil icon (Core Fixes)
  
• Azuredge wasn't dealing the advertised +4 extra damage vs. undead creatures (Core Fixes)
  
• Deprecated the edited version of IHAMM05.BAM. The inventory icon for Warhammer +2: Borok's Fist is now restored using the unmodified version of this file (Core Fixes)
  
• Deprecated the race change for the Emphatic Manifestation (Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed Keldorn re-joining variable typo (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed an issue with a duplicated PartyRested() trigger which was preventing one of Aerie's banters with a female protagonist from occurring (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed an issue with a duplicated PartyRested() trigger which was preventing one of Haer'Dalis' banters with Edwin from occurring (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the BashDoor() typo in ACTION.IDS (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the LeaveAreaLUAPanicEntry() typo in ACTSLEEP.IDS (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the Fireball, Lightning Bolt and Magic Missile traps which were erroneously ignoring the target's magic resistance (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the immunity to mind-affecting spells on the Mordenkeinen's Sword which was erroneously dispellable (BETA Core Fixes)

v9.05 - integrated the following fixes:

• The Slayer change dialogue fix no longer breaks the Ascension mod if it was installed before the fixpack (Core Fixes)
  
• Deprecated Gaal taking the rift device change (Core Fixes)
  
• Revised the duplicate gem bag fix (Core Fixes)
  
• The Flydian fix no longer crashes SoA-only games (Core Fixes)
  
• The BETA Core Fixes component once again installs on SoA-only games (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed the reddeath.bcs script which didn't work because it was using the wrong action (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed an issue which allowed Kruin to spawn again if you killed him before he could talk (BETA Core Fixes)

v9.04 - added the following translations:

• Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese (by good0593)

v9.03 - integrated the following fixes:

• Fixed beneficial effects from the Deck of Many Things failing due to Magic Resistance and/or Globe of Invulnerability (BETA Core Fixes)

v9.02 - integrated the following fixes:

• Fixed an issue which caused Moon Dog Sight to affect the party instead of targeting only enemies (Core Fixes)
  
• The Elven charm/sleep immunity fix was erroneously affecting several non-charm/sleep spells (Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed Offensive Spin / Boon of Lathander feedback string duplication (Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed a dialogue exploit in the City of Caverns (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed a typo which erroneously made undead creatures are immune to Lightning Bolt instead of Hold Person (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed an issue which was causing Illusory Werewolves to deal real damage to unarmed/ranged characters (BETA Core Fixes)
  
• Fixed some trolls not dying properly after being knocked down (BETA Core Fixes)

• Fixed a minor bug in the "Cromwell's forging actually takes a day" component (Optional But Cool)

I am really really thankful for this, aVENGER!

By the way, Wisp had been kind enough to let me have his latest version of the GTU light a few months ago, which I notice is missing from your local version. Wisp won't perhaps mind to have it included in this unofficial version of the BG2 Fixpack. Should we contact him about it?

No worries, I've already asked Wisp to commit his own changes to the GitHub repository.

Once he does that, they will be merged into the devel branch and a new release will become available automatically.

Added some more fixes. Most notably, the fixpack no longer breaks Ascension's enhanced Slayer change (i.e. it is now safe to install Ascension before the BG2 Fixpack) and can once again be installed on SoA-only games.
