are you allowed to use a 2nd PC to initiate dialog ... kind of like the Amber mod? If not, I assume something like this would not be easy to do, but it would make for an nice future suggestion. thanks ...

Impossible, unfortunately. In order to prevent hideous, game-breaking bugs, we're using the equivalent of Player1 as a dialogue trigger.
