I seem to be having an issue with the wall of the faithless. I'm under the impression I should be able to save Bish from his fate but no way I talk to him brings up options to convert him to the worship of a god or devour his soul. Is this normal or have I done something wrong?

No, that's normal. I've abandoned the plan for taking Bishop of the Wall when we went with the Romance Pack; it broke too many things in the game. Instead, you have a moderate version where you get a different Epilogue for him if you convince him to hang on for dear life, and bargain with Kelemvor (and reject Gann in favor of Bishop).
