A few rather minor things:
1. "Make elemental arrows more like BG2". The Fire Arrows does D6 physical damage + D3 Fire Damage, but I've seen Kobold Commandos with Short Bows and Fire Arrows do 8+6 damage (no critical). 2. "Dark-Side-based kobold upgrade". The description of the Kobold Guards' "Noma Sticka" says it's a Small Sword when it's really a Dagger. I guess this is not a bug, but just a cosmetic oversight. 3. Grey Wolf. Is this guy a Wizard slayer? He went after Xzar like, completely ignoring the other party members, which at level 2-3 are all more dangerous than Xzar. Point 1 is rather annoying since it's "cheating". My WeiduLog, in case there may be other mods interfering: QUOTE // Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods

About point one (it has nothing to do with SCS):
there has been a long discussion about those fire arrows you mentioned. I also believe it should not be like that but the developers have given the kobolds different undroppable arrows that are stronger (+2 instead of +1, iirc) than the ones the party uses. For my own use, I have changed things so that they do the same damage in my game. This post has been edited by Salk: Jul 20 2008, 09:27 PM -------------------- |

I guess that also explains why they seem to fire off infinite number of those things, but always only have 2 in inventory...

As I said, I was personally against keeping these infinite undroppable arrows as projectiles source for the kobolds and discussed it both at SHS and here in the BG1 Fixpack Forum.

QUOTE 2. "Dark-Side-based kobold upgrade". The description of the Kobold Guards' "Noma Sticka" says it's a Small Sword when it's really a Dagger. I guess this is not a bug, but just a cosmetic oversight. If David copied the item and description from the BG1 DSotSC, he may have overlooked updating the proficiencies to BG2/Tutu style. I can also provide the equivalent .itm and description from the Tutu version if you want to stay consistent. Though it would only be for Tutu (the BGT version is different) and I suppose there's no compelling reason to be consistent (they are kobolds after all).QUOTE 3. Grey Wolf. Is this guy a Wizard slayer? He went after Xzar like, completely ignoring the other party members, which at level 2-3 are all more dangerous than Xzar. A lot of AI scripts target mages first as the highest threat, though perhaps this is a bit overused (particularly at lower levels as you say).I don't recall the results of the arrow discussion Salk - didn't we agree to make it an OBC at least? -------------------- Mod Contributions

Miloch,
I am not sure myself but I wonder if something so minor would even justify its own OBC. However at the BGT Forum, the change was pretty much rejected. -------------------- |

Hmm...what's MixMod (didn't see it in the Install Order Guide) and what is OBC? Optional B... Content?
Oh, and sorry for blaming the cheating Kobolds on SCS. Is it enough to just edit the right CRE file to fox the Kobold Commandoes? And will changes work on a current game? |

Nome Stika weapons can be used without penalty even if you do not have proficiency in daggers. This is an oversight and bug though. Try not to abuse it with your mages who does not have proficiency in daggers.

Hmm...what's MixMod (didn't see it in the Install Order Guide) and what is OBC? Optional B... Content? It's a tweak mod that should be available on the Wizard's mirrors - should be in section 12 of the Tutu mod list in my signature (is also BG2 compatible).QUOTE Is it enough to just edit the right CRE file to fox the Kobold Commandoes? And will changes work on a current game? Probably, but I don't recall what all was involved with this - I think it involved changes to the .itm files for the arrows. DavidW apparently likes the cheating, overpowered little gits but it does lack realism a bit.Re: Nome Stikkah - it probably had the BG1 small sword proficiency which covers a number of proficiencies in BG2/Tutu. -------------------- Mod Contributions

QUOTE Is it enough to just edit the right CRE file to fox the Kobold Commandoes? And will changes work on a current game? Probably, but I don't recall what all was involved with this - I think it involved changes to the .itm files for the arrows. DavidW apparently likes the cheating, overpowered little gits but it does lack realism a bit. It's more that I'm not in the business of writing mods to make the game easier, however justified or otherwise. SCS has a reasonably delineated task. If someone else writes a mod to tone down the kobold arrows, it'll be compatible with SCS, and people can install that mod if they want to. Maybe I will too. That's the beauty of WEIDU. |

and what is OBC? Optional B... Content? OBC = "Optional But Cool" - a term usually reserved for fixpack components that should really be in a tweak pack.If someone else writes a mod to tone down the kobold arrows, it'll be compatible with SCS, and people can install that mod if they want to. Maybe I will too. No, you won't, because...(And of course, notoriously I'm a fan of horrifically challenging kobolds!) And to be fair, I'll quote myself from the same post:Anyway, nerfing AROWKC might make a good tweak, for those who are afraid of kobolds (That discussion is buried in Salk's text update thread btw, in case anyone with workroom access actually wants to find it.)But yeah, I don't think anyone's arguing you should include it in SCS. -------------------- Mod Contributions
