Improved Asylum V0.97 Released!

RPG Dungeon

Version 0.97 of the Improved Asylum mod has been released! This version is primarily intended as a compatibility upgrade. Older versions of the mod overwrite the Spell Trap file with the version from an older version of Detectable Spells that allows AI scripts to see that the player has the Spell Trap protections up. This is a holdover from much earlier and less sophisticated ways of modding BG2. This caused a problem if Improved Asylum was installed after another mod that changed the Spell Trap spell. This problem has been corrected. The new version has been changed to include the version of Detectable Spells that comes with the Sword Coast Stratagems 2 mod for Baldur's Gate 2.

Thanks to DavidW for the code for the new Detectable Spells!

For now, only the PC version of the mod is available. A Mac OSX version will be following over the next several days.

SHS Welcomes Adrian!

Spellhold Studios

SHS is proud to welcome Rhaella and her NPC, Adrian, to the fold!

Meet Adrian Sianodel, a 33 year old half-elven mage who, after several recent catastrophes, managed to land a brief but involuntary stint as Irenicus' pet wandmaker. Kill the duergar who guard him, and he'll be quite happy to lend his magic to your cause. To repay the debt, to exact vengeance... and perhaps because he simply has nowhere else to go anymore.

Adrian has lived an interesting life, for lack of a better term, though he's hoping to finally put his past behind him. Aside from his magic, he has a background in espionage and a decadent -- some might say romantic -- streak that has gotten him into trouble in the past. He once pursued (and ultimately wrecked) a political career with one of the most notorious organizations in the Realms, and may very much enjoy the opportunities for intrigue the Shadow Thieves have to offer... if you can drag him away from fighting with the Harper and the Red Wizard long enough to notice, that is.

Adrian may be somewhat difficult to get to know. He is not the most tolerant of people, and while he is intrigued by your powers and heritage (and has far more experience with the machinations of dark gods than he would like), neither his respect nor his trust is particularly easy to earn. That said, he will appreciate a leader willing to take him to task.

Adrian features:

A colourful new sorcerer NPC

Banters with the original Bioware NPCs

Interjections and other commentary

A new quest

A romance for an eligible female protagonist

A friendship path for a protagonist not romancing him

Player initiated dialogue and flirts

Crossmod with many NPCS

Original portrait by MiLeah

CoM: Petsy Chattertone Released

We are proud to announce a new NPC mod release: Petsy Chattertone.

"When asked about her past, PETSY CHATTERTONE is more than willing to talk. Usually, its not even about herself: the weather, food, how her hair frizzes in humidity... She talks so much that it's difficult to know what she’s actually talking about. Still, you do gather that she has parents and a brother in her hometown, Gullykin, although she has neglected to tell you why she left there at all. She traveled the Sword Coast and in Amn, her final destination. Her presence in the city isn't a coincidence and you can only presume that it has something to do with the journal she carries with her. It seems more precious to her than any treasure.

So far as you can tell, she is well-intentioned, even if a little chatter-prone. Her fighting skills are adequate enough, but shes sure to know a trick or two to help you on your journey."

Petsy Chattertone is a romanceable halfling bard, written by Lava Del'Vortel. She's young, playful, talkative and silly. She's not very strong, but hopefully she'll be able to make you smile.
Mod includes both SoA and ToB content. In her SoA portion, every player will experience some talks and a quest. Male gnomes, dwarves and halflings can romance her.

CoM: The Undying V2.10 Released

The Undying version 2.10 has been released with changes and fixes.

The Undying is a WeiDU-based mod for Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal. This mod adds two new NPCs who will join your party, Callisto T'sarran and Ninafer.

Callisto is a Chaotic Evil elven berserker fighter with a tragic past. She has a hatred towards the world in general and an undying hate towards those who destroyed her life when she was young. Nothing will stand in her way to exact bloody revenge on those who wronged her. Follow her as she slips deeper into her own insanity.

Ninafer is a Lawful Neutral elven fighter/mage who is trying to find her way in the world of Toril. She's your typical thrill seeking adventurer who is bored with the home life.

This mod also includes new encounters, which is part of Callisto's Quest to find those who wronged her in the past, new items are added, seven new stores, many banters and interjections and three minor quests. Ninafer will flirt around with Anomen if Anomen and your female character are not romancing each other. Their relationship continues into Throne of Bhaal. As usual, The Undying should be compatible with most other WeiDu-based mods, and should be installed after all official patches.

Also check the forums for progress on Version 3 which will include new places to explore, more adventure and more NPCs who will join your party.

SHS: Arath NPC Released

Spellhold Studios

"When asked about his past, ARATH smiles and artfully avoids the question. From what you can gather, he was born in Athkatla, the son of a wealthy nobleman, and grew up in relative peace until he discovered his father's ties to the slave trade. Furious at his father's involvement in people-trafficking, he ran away, eventually joining the local Druid Grove and studying to become a druid himself. Arath is quick both on his feet and in his speech, words tumbling out often before he can finish the last, and has a marked appreciation for the beauty of nature. Though he is in his mid-twenties, he exudes a confidence and charisma of one far older than his years would suggest. His eyes sparkle as you probe him with questions, but he does not answer them, saying only that he feels no need to recount the past when the present is so much more interesting."

Arath is a complex, self-assured, humorous and somewhat hedonistic druid who, on the surface, cares for little else beyond himself and his love for nature. He loves the human form, both male and female, and isn't afraid to be direct about what he wants -- though he's not always successful in getting it, much to his chagrin. He has a passionate hate for aberrations, the undead and anything else that falls beyond the natural scheme of things, and he has some rather complex and occasionally contradictory beliefs.

Arath features:

an opinionated, quirky new Druid NPC

many banters with BioWare NPCs (3+ throughout SoA/ToB)

many talks on a variety of in-game plots and ideas

commentary throughout the game on the PC's quest

joins during the slaver line of quests in Chapter 2

a new quest in late SoA

a unique romance spanning SoA and ToB

an extensive friendship with any PC not romancing him

original portrait by Lady Lesatho

original music by theacefes

The Gibberlings Three

Meet Tyris Flare, a red-haired amazon who can kick ass and hurl fire! Sound familiar? That's because she used be in Golden Axe! But now she's lost in the Umar Hills and looking for the love of a good (or bad) Bhaalspawn. This latest version of Tyris has a couple of miscellaneous fixes, however the major change is that Tyris will now dual-class at level 7 giving her the extra killing power that people asked for. Enjoy!

SHS: BGT v1.13 Released

Spellhold Studios

This major release overhauls the installation process to minimise dependence on fallible shell scripts and enables installation on Linux systems out of the box. Updates have been made to multiple translations, and the Czech translation has been added. A few new features have been added, including default Baldur's Gate soundsets, the end of Tales of the Sword Coast screen, and subtitles for the Baldur's Gate introduction movie. Quite a number of bugs have been fixed.

Important for mega-mod installers: the installation has an extra prompts whether to biff all files or just some. The recommended command line command for auto-installation is now

Setup-BGT.exe --force-install 0 --skip-at-view --language <language> --args-list osp <Baldur's Gate I directory>

Note the added 'o' in --arg-list, in order to skip the extra prompt.

Saved games are not compatible with 1.12 and thus a new game is highly recommended.

G3: Spell Revisions, v3.1 Now Available

The Gibberlings Three

Spell Revisions aims to fix, tweak, and enhance arcane and divine spells in Baldur's Gate II, Tutu, and Baldur's Gate Trilogy. This originally started as a project to make the spell system more balanced by improving weaker spells and nerfing overpowered ones, but has evolved to also include changes to spells designed to make them more fun and interesting and fixes for spell-related bugs found in the original game. Version 3.1 adds French, Spanish, and Russian translations and includes all fixes for v3.

Rosenranken: Update of Ajantis BG1 Expansion Modification

Rosenranken

The Ajantis BG1 Expansion Modification is a mini-mod for "vanilla" BG1 (with or without the add-on Tales of the Sword Coast), BG1Tutu v4, EasyTutu, and BGT. It is currently only available in English.

Changes for v5:

BG1 version: Correction of BG1 Trigger-Simulations (longer delay and timer for Z!EmulAreaCheck.BAF and new tp2-coding of the AreaCheck emulation as suggested by Zed Nocear).

Added alternate portrait options (Catlepha (2x), Casul, berelinde (2x)).

fixed bug that made romance confession dialogue repeat

Update to WeiDU 231

Description:

For original BG1 (with or without TotSC), the mod adds a friendship track and the BG1NPC project romance for Ajantis. The original BG1NPC project romance was slightly altered to adjust to the restrictions of the BG1 engine, although overall the content stayed the same.

For Tutu and BGT, the mod adds a friendship track for Ajantis. Contentwise, the friendship mod is meant as an addition to the BG1NPC project, but technically it can be installed and played without the BG1NPC project.

The BG1NPC project can be found at Gibberlings Three: http://www.gibberlin...g1npc/index.php

The second part of the Mod gives a choice of custom portraits for Ajantis. The portraits can be installed independent to the friendship/romance part of the mod.
You can have a look at the portraits here: http://www.rosenrank...hp?topic=6551.0

Not all portraits are included yet, as I am still waiting for permission for some of the artists.
Portraits included are from
-Amaurea
-Azguz aka Azze
-Immortality
-Plasmocat
-Rabain
-Senka
-wonnimchunha

And to round off our releases this 12 Days, we have a new mod from Enkida!

This will upgrade various BioWare and player-made NPCs so they have a somewhat "standardized" look - similar head sizes, color range, and an attempt to be semi-faithful to the original BioWare artwork "look." You can see all included portrait upgrades in this thread!

SHS: Yeslick NPC Released

Spellhold Studios

A new NPC by Pixel Kaiser (also known as Tameon the Dragoon) has been released for BGII: SoA!

This mod brings Yeslick from Baldur's Gate to BGII: SoA, with an extensive variety of banters and interjections, a new kit (Alaghor of Clangeddin) as well as a number of PC dialogues throughout the game. Yeslick is an older dwarf, a devotee of Vergadain, dwarven god of wealth and luck and Clangeddin, dwarven god of war and battle.

He tends to model himself as the father-figure of the group, and can often be found trying to help the party to reach their potential... to mixed results. He has a kind heart and a steady hand, and is loyal to the PC to the end.

When asked about his past, Yeslick chuckles grimly. "There ain't nothin' there ye be wantin' to know, young 'un. Trust me." From what you have gleaned, Yeslick is peculiar for a dwarf; a follower of Vergadain, the Dwarven god of wealth and luck and Clangeddin, Dwarven god of war, he is an unassuming companion with an aversion to alcohol and the undead. You know little about his history beyond that he grew up in the Dales to the north and that heat makes him extremely irritable.

SHS: the bigg Mod Updates

Spellhold Studios

The bigg Tweaks
This mod is a collection of different modifications to the game, ranging from most necessary fixes to blatant cheese; most of these are specifically intended to make the game less frustrating. All components are optional; the installer is WeiDU and uses the most recent coding commands and conventions, allowing it to be compatible with virtually all possible mod combinations.

Refinements
The Refinements Mod is somewhat of an arrogant project. We feel that many things in the game are somehow misplaced, not detailed enough, not balanced enough, not cool enough, or... you get the picture. So we've tried to fix them, with the aim to provide a fitting new standard form for the game. It's still an evolving work; you never know how many things you may want to refine, given time. It includes: New HLAs Tables for all classes, SwashImoen (turning Imoen into a Swashbuckler/Mage), Shapeshifting fixes, Universal Lesser Mage robes and the Sword Angel kit.

SHS: BGT Restored Textscreen Music Updated

Spellhold Studios

This big modification simply restores, and makes more consistent with the text, the music that is heard during the prologue textscreen and the dream textscreens in Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast. Since the music is hard-coded into Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast, this music was remixed into the narration sounds. Effort has been made to ensure the narration follows the text, so that the narrator does not narrate too far ahead of what the text shows.

Some minor updates, but mainly to prepare for next version of BGT-WeiDU. Please note that the language packs have also been updated by lower casing all the files in the archives (allowing for Linux systems). The contents of the files have not actually changed.

Quote

- Fixed a typo that prevented installation in Korean language
- Improved compatiblity on Linux and Macintosh systems
- Updated compatibility for BGT-WeiDU 1.13

SHS: BGT Tweaks Updated

Spellhold Studios

Version 10 of Ascension64's BGT Tweak Pack has been released

This modification is the offspring of existing patches in pre-ZETA versions of Baldur's Gate Trilogy-WeiDU 0.99. It was decided that tweaks should be separated from fixes in order to keep BGT-WeiDU more faithful to the original Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast. Therefore, this package was borne to address the issues in the original Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast that were thought to be lacking.

Changes
- Improved compatibility with Linux systems
- Updated translation: Russian
- New component: Reputation Resets at Beginning of BG2 (from BG2 Tweaks)
- Hooded unarmoured mages and thieves: Renamed, removed thieves part and extended mage part since 1PP: Thieves Galore fixes the thieves part better
- Item BG1-ification: Fixed a bug where Scimitars were made unusable by thieves
- More bandit scalps: Prevented issues with bandits having two scalps

GemRB 0.7.0 released

GemRB is a portable open-source implementation of Bioware's Infinity Engine. It was written to support pseudo-3D role playing games based on the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset (Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series, Planescape: Torment).

After many years of wading through hordes of bugs and Myconids, we can finally say that the Baldur's Gate saga is playable from start to end in GemRB!
We now support custom (vector) fonts, which can make dialogs much more easy to read on very small/big displays and has great i18n potential. There have also been other mobile device oriented improvements and the usual huge array of hard-to-categorize new minifeatures and bugfixes.

For the details, try GemRB yourself or check the linked changelog for some highlights.

SHS: PS:T UI Mod Updated

Spellhold Studios

ghosthande has updated his PS:T UI mod, with updated and fully functional Chinese language support, fixed one or two problems and a new feature, full-screen movies!

Ghostdog's PS:T UI Mod is a User Interface modification which in combination with the bigg's Widescreen Mod makes any resolution viable for Planescape: Torment by changing a number of things in the UI.

The Widescreen mod works extremely well in Planescape: Torment, but unfortunately when you change the resolution, almost all of the UI elements and game effects are shown in the top-left area since they were set for the original 640x480 game resolution. What this mod does is center all of these elements and enhance the UI with original game art to fit nicely with other resolutions.

Things fixed for new resolutions include many game screens including the Start menu, character creation screens, the journal, inventory, spells and stores among others, as well as a number of other components including the bottom UI bar which has been optimised, tooltips and in-game messages (which now display correctly), the dialogue box, and the worldmap.

The mod is compatible with both 2CD and 4CD versions of the game as well as Qwinn's PS:T mods.

SHS: Darian ToB Released

Spellhold Studios

Darian has been updated to v2, now including brand new ToB content and crossmod with the Sarah NPC!

Darian is one of the Avariel, the enigmatic and almost extinct winged elves. He has come to Athkatla pursuing rumors that one of his kin is imprisoned in the human city, but things are not as he expects. Darian bears the legacy of thousands of years of hostility and distrust towards the grounded races, but those attitudes may not survive first contact with the people whom the Avariel tell stories of to frighten misbehaving children. For all his faults, xenophobia and arrogance prominent among them, Darian's fundamental intentions are good and his heart honorable. Cracking his shell will prove difficult, but it may just prove worthwhile. You can find Darian outside the Copper Coronet in the Athkatla Slums.

This mod includes:

A romance for eligible females.

Player-initiated dialogue and flirting, some restricted to the romantically inclined but some not.

Banters with the Bioware NPCs.

Numerous interjections and reactions to the world of Baldur's Gate II.

An evolving character who is unlikely to leave the Bhaalspawn's company the same man who joined it.

An original portrait drawn by the very talented Ilmatar.

Spellhold Studios

melkor_morgoth has updated his BGSpawn mod to v1.11!

BGSpawn is a new system that handles the "spawned creatures" appearing in Baldur's Gate's areas. The mod changes the random (but fixed) creatures you can find around the Sword Coast (called spawns) with a completely new and more challenging system. In addition, you can also choose the time between re-spawned creatures and later in the install process the Random Encounters you may find when moving between areas. Optionally, you may also install a new creature "Vampiric Wolf Lord" (based on DavidW's Ulcaster Wolf). BGSpawn is a WeiDU-mod compatible with BGT-WeiDU only.

Stivan, a minimod that was originally a part of the bigg house, has been revamped by the bigg and Giuseppe with a whole bunch of new content, and a beta has now been uploaded to the Misc Mods category!

Stivan the Hunter is a new joinable NPC for Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn and its expansion, Throne of Bhaal, complete with the usual array of banters, friendships, quests and interjections.

Stivan is a Chaotic Neutral Male Halfling Fighter/Thief whom you can find in the Bridge District (a map marker is added to help you find him) and will join any party.

SHS: Nephele Updated

Spellhold Studios

Nephele has been updated to v2, with an updated portrait, a new crossmod dialogue with the Haer'Dalis Romance mod, several bugfixes and TRAification!

Adding a touch of humour and hopefully a hint of originality and interest, Nephele is a new NPC for BGII: SoA and ToB--a halfling cleric of Yondalla, mother of seven and a compulsive adventurer. A woman of many stories, she has lived a long and sometimes dangerous life, been married, had children (and grandchildren), and dealt with her demons. Nephele has no earth-shaking quest, no troubling issues and requires no therapy. That's not to say that she won't pipe up with her opinion at every possible juncture, and do her best to make you into the best young man or woman you can be!

Although she's more than a little nosy, and quite often sticks her foot in her mouth, she's a kindhearted woman trying to do good in the world. She has a number of dialogues throughout SoA and ToB on par with some romance mods, and has a large number of interactions with both the NPCs and the game world.

Nephele joins you in Trademeet, and will stay with you throughout SoA and ToB.

SHS: ToBEx Updated

Spellhold Studios

TobEx (ToB Extender) is a program written in C++ that modifies the virtual image of the EXE in memory to achieve EXE modifications, which saves hard-coding changes into the EXE file itself. It does this by the DLL injection method.

The advantages of this are that you can modify EXE on the fly, and you do not have to rely on code caves within the EXE to insert new code. Given knowledge of the structures used by the game, it can also help to explore the EXE further, code in new fixes, and introduce new features in the game, such as new effects, script triggers and actions, etc.

This update is TobEx beta 0022, and should be more stable than the previous, updates some translations, removes the need for detoured.dll, and sports one new hack for modders. View a complete list of changes here.

ToBEx is also now on github. You can find the project here.
This mod was largely inspired by several other Wizard Slayer revision mods which came before it, most notably Gray Acumen's Kit Improvements, Konalan's Tweaks, Ashes of Embers and Kitanya's fixes (by SixOfSpades). This version is a bit more conservative and attempts not to stray too far from the original kit design. In summary, it tries to enhance the Wizard Slayer's inherent strong points while adding some of the best features from the aforementioned mods. This should make the kit a bit more balanced and fun to play while staying mostly true to Bioware's original concept. The mod works on normal Baldur's Gate II games as well as either of the two Baldur's Gate conversion projects: (Easy)Tutu and Baldur's Gate Trilogy (BGT).

SHS: W_GUI Released

Spellhold Studios

After playing the same game for over ten years, it's obvious that some players may be bored with the old brownish interface and the usual menu layout. This is mod for those who are tired of the current layout and who are not afraid to discover a new visual style. It's still the same good old Baldur's Gate 2, but in new shades of blue.

W_GUI is a game modification that aims to completely redo the graphical user interface for Baldur's Gate 2, BGTuTu and BGT. The mod works well with the bigg's Widescreen Mod and includes new game fonts in different sizes, for those who play in high resolutions and think that original font is too small and hard to read. W_GUI also supports tweaks to the game interface made by Ascension64 ToBEx.

The mod is in the beta phase of development but is mostly finished, and even in it's current state replaces most of game's interface seen during singleplayer.

SHS: Colours of Infinity Updated

Colours of Infinity has been updated!

For all those who have never heard of CoI: the series includes a number of small mods that add a variety of mysterious, intriguing and occasionally abstract aspects to the game. Be prepared for interesting new places and take part in mystical adventures, and even engage in a little romance with Yvette, ethereal priestress of Sune.

A newly applied fix should get rid of the installation problem (in both TotDG and Innershade) which occurs if the 'save' directory doesn't exist. What's more, Innershade has a small dialogue fix, which blocked a potential gift after escaping the Underdark. Along with TotDG and Innershade, The White Queen has also been updated - and should now be compatible with the BGT-BP Worldmap - thanks to i30817 and Lollorian.

Author: Cliffette

cliffette has produced a number of mods for Baldur's Gate II. G3 is pleased to keep these mods available, with her permission, though they are offered 'as is', with no support for them. A Mod for the Orderly adds a keyring to help manage the avalanche of keys you acquire in your journey across Faerun. This version added French translation by Sanctifer (of the d'Oghmatiques), and updates to WeiDU v231.

Learn more about the mod

View the Readme

Visit the Forum

Download the mod

Version 14 adds numerous banters between Ajantis and Coran, Coran and Kivan, Coran and Tiax, and Coran and Xan. Romance conflicts are expanded to include Darian and berelinde's Keldorn Romance. This version also corrects a typographical error that caused an Angelo-Xan banter to repeat.

G3: Version 20 of Sword Coast Stratagems available

The Gibberlings Three

Version 20 of Sword Coast Stratagems has been released. SCS is primarily a tactical mod for Tutu and Baldur's Gate Trilogy. The idea is to make the game rather more tactically challenging, rather than just making it harder by brute-force methods like tripling all the damage rolls. It also contains a few rule tweaks and ease-of-use features. Version 20 is a maintenance update that fixes a number of bugs.

SHS: Haer'Dalis Romance Released!

Aeryn has released the SoA portion of her Haer'Dalis Romance!

"Love is passion. Passion is fleeting. And such ephemeral things are those we hold the closest and cherish the most. Each moment is precious, for it may very well be the last. 'Tis not to be feared, my raven, for such fading beauty is the fate of all life, of all things, of all hopes. Neither fret for tomorrow, nor regret yesterday, but live for today."

The Haer'Dalis Romance for Baldur's Gate II allows female PCs to explore a deeper relationship with our dear sparrow. Though the tielfing bard has roamed the Planes and basked in the dark beauty of Sigil's street for decades, his experience with the Prime is limited, and his curiosity about both this new world and his new leader is great indeed. PCs are given the freedom to choose just how close they wish to get to this mysterious Planeswalker, though Haer'Dalis may find hesitant PCs all the more alluring for their reluctance. Regardless of what exactly the PC is looking for, there is a fair chance this skilled actor can fill whatever role she desires.

The mod is open to females of any race, alignment and class, and features a large number of talks on a wide range of topics. Though he is neither foolish nor cruel, Haer'Dalis loves mischief, dramatic public displays and arguments, and the mod reflects this by often providing more content to PCs who do not always agree with the bard. Content will span both SoA and ToB, and have a variety of paths and epilogues.
Authors: The BG1NPC Project Team

Version 20 of BG1NPC is now available. This WeiDU mod adds a great deal of content by expanding the depth of character and levels of interaction with the NPCs from the original Baldurs Gate game. It also provides some optional tweaks to the BG portion of the game. This package works on both Tutu and BGT. Available in English, Spanish, and French, this version ships with WeiDU v231 for Windows and v229 for OSX. Banter, Player Initiated Dialogues, Romances, Quests, Tweaks, and Interjections expand your BG game experience when you add this mod to your Tutu, EasyTutu, or BGT install. We suggest using the optional Music Pack, as well.

G3: Version 20 of Sword Coast Stratagems II available

The Gibberlings Three

Sword Coast Stratagems II is a collection of mini-mods for Baldur's Gate II, affecting both Shadows of Amn and the Throne of Bhaal extension. Like its Tutu predecessor, SCS II is mostly a tactics mod, intended to make the combats in the game more challenging and interesting. Overall, playing SCS II shouldn't exactly feel like a whole new game - it should feel like the old game, but with your foes acting much more intelligently and realistically. Version 19 of SCS II updates the French and Italian translations.
